Eating Points recognised that there was an issue with single use bags still being used in the Takeaway industry. This was for a number of reasons but mainly because the customer had no control over the type of bag they wished to receive their Takeaway in.
Eating Points now provides customers with a choice over what type of bag they receive their order in. On Eating Points that choice includes the choice to specifically choose a reusable and 100% recyclable or biodegradable bag, a "Bag for Giving" or no bag at all (for collection orders only).

Eating Points did not just identify a unique opportunity to reduce use of single use plastic waste. Eating Points, in partnership with local Takeaways (who are critical to the Bags for Giving initiative) also identified a community opportunity.
This opportunity rested on providing the customer with a choice:
"If you must pay for a bag would you choose a bag where money goes to charities, or one where money does not?"
The answers were 100% that they would prefer bags with charitable donations...and the concept of "Bags for Giving" was born.
Bag for Giving profit share is payable to our member charities who are:

- Jersey Child Care Trust
- Les Amis

Eating Points technology is slicker and more efficient than our competitors. This efficiency has allowed us to significantly reduce the fees we charge our Partner. This led to a third realisation by Eating Points:
"With a reduction in our fees (compared to other platforms) there is room to pass savings back to the customer somehow." This realisation led to the creation of the Points model.
Points are awarded at a minimum of 5% back as Points to use towards future discounts and are on a per Takeaway basis and the customer are able to maintain unlimited Points Accounts*
