Eating Points has created a unique model to generate community savings with proftit-share in all Bags for Giving with our community charities.
This would not be possible without the generous support of all our Partners and we, and the charities we support, are exceptionally grateful to them.
We opened Beresford Street Kitchen in August 2017 and the Catering Workshop, on the 1stβ―floor, in October of that year. At this early stage we had a crew of 16 people with learning disabilities and/or autism and a long waiting list that kept growing.β―
We added BSK Print Works, also on 1stβ―floor,β―in April 2018 and launched an outside catering service. We provided catering for a day service for 2 years, for the Police HQ canteen for 3 years and a meal delivery service during the pandemic. We have rapidly grown our events catering and now cater for weddings and high-profile events. In June 2020 we launched La Hougue Bie Tea Rooms to enable us to provide more much needed opportunities and a stepping stone for crew to move on to.β―
After a full review of our charitable activities and outcomes, we started an ambitious 5-year strategy in 2021. This included the launch of our Learning for Life education programme in September 2021.β―β―
BSK has grown significantly in its first 5 years, and now provides workplace training and employment for 55 people with learning disabilities and/or autism and 44 people are currently attending 2 year Learning for Life education courses.
Our aim as a charity is to raise funds to support activities and purchase equipment for the children within the school. We help support Christmas parties , residential and curriculum outings, clubs in school gardening, art, choir and where possible assist the school to purchase costly resources and equipment.
We are very keen as a group to recycle items and have great public support when asking for unwanted items , for art projects , gardening projects , classroom projects and outdoor learning.
We are a small group of parents and school staff who organise events to raise the funds throughout the year. Our main fundraiser is the Early bird Christmas Bazaar and raffle which has become a notable event for many islanders.
We meet mainly on a Thursday morning in school to sort donated items , cellophane items , and prepare items in preparation for this event , we even stop for coffee, cake and a natter too . As some parents who work during the day asked about meeting of an evening so this is arranged on a monthly basis ( we advise as and when jobs are needed to be done).
We have a Facebook book page which is a great way to follow us and keep up with items wanted and up and coming events not just events organised by us but other supporting organisations too.
Please feel free to contact us , new ideas and help always appreciated even if you are able to do jobs from home.

Jersey Cheshire Home is the only residential facility on the island caring solely for adults with disabilities.
The individuals that we care for all have debilitating physical disabilities, this results in them no longer being able to live in their own home.
Residents stay with us for as long as they need care with some long term residents being with us for tens of years. On occasion stays are shorter due to an individuals condition improving to such an extent they are able to return to live in their own home. It is always a pleasure for us to see a resident reach such a milestone.
Although our purpose built facility limits the number of full time residents we can cater for, our additional services of Aquatherapy & Physiotherapy enable us to help well over 60 additional individuals each week to manage and improve their condition.
Because of us, children with disabilities can go to nursery and access other activities.
We focus on eradicating childhood poverty and prioritise our support for those who need it most.
We share, accredit and reward good practice to create safer, better experiences for children and families.
It is our vision that every child in Jersey has access to the nurture, care and learning they need to thrive.
Putting families first, we deliver programmes to enable all children to have their best start.
We are data led and know the difference we make for children and families because we measure our impact using an Outcomes Based Accountability (OBA) approach.
Each year, more children are accessing our programmes and services.

We are pioneering in the face of both global and local challenges, such as the aging population, and developing social enterprises that benefit the community as a whole, such as our recycling services.
